Glass Pawns is a two-piece grunge rock project led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jamie Dean. Forged from over a decade of international touring and studio work, the band channels raw energy, atmosphere, and hard-earned musical experience into a powerful, stripped-back sound.

Jamie spent 10 years performing worldwide with the internationally acclaimed post-rock outfit God Is An Astronaut, contributing to multiple studio releases before joining Gavin James’ live band, where he performs on lead guitar, bass, keys, and backing vocals across major stages.

Glass Pawns marks a new chapter — a fusion of everything that came before, distilled into something louder, heavier, and more immediate. Fronted by Dean on guitar and vocals, the band is completed by powerhouse drummer Gary McGuinness who is also the frontman of riff-rock act The Survival Code.

Already making their mark on the live circuit, Glass Pawns have opened for revered alt-rock trio Fangclub at Dublin’s iconic Whelan’s and supported God Alone at The Workman’s Club. With their first overseas shows in London just around the corner, the band is building momentum fast — delivering intense, uncompromising grunge with the weight of real experience behind it.
